The no-viewpoint-ban rule
BraveVid will not remove, suspend, deprioritize, or demonetize a video solely because it expresses a lawful political, religious, cultural, scientific, artistic, or personal position. Rules apply to observable conduct and evidence, not ideology or popularity.
Viewer choice comes first
A viewer may hide a video or later mute channels, keywords, topics, languages, or mature material. Those choices alter that viewer's experience. They do not silently erase the speaker for everyone else.
Narrow action for concrete harm
Illegal child exploitation, credible targeted threats, non-consensual sexual content, severe privacy exposure, malware, phishing, unlawful content, and valid court orders require prompt, specialist handling. Copyright uses notice, counter-notice, and appeal processes. Spam is judged by repetitive or deceptive behavior, not by how passionate or unpopular a message is.
Notice and appeal
Every platform action should state the rule, evidence category, scope, duration, geography, human or automated involvement, and how to appeal. High-impact appeals should go to a different reviewer. Reversed decisions should restore eligible content and be counted in public error metrics.
Honest preview boundary
The public viewer preview records reports and appeals but does not yet operate open creator publishing or a staffed trust-and-safety service. Creator launch requires qualified counsel, specialist illegal-content handling, named operations owners, and production media infrastructure.
